RoofingPros Milwaukee is committed to making roofingprosmilwaukee.com usable for everyone, including people with disabilities. We treat accessibility as a continuous process, not a one-time project.

1. Conformance Target

Our goal is for the website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA published by the W3C. WCAG 2.1 AA is the most widely adopted standard for accessible web content and the benchmark referenced by U.S. Department of Justice ADA guidance.

2. Measures We Take

To support that goal we:

  • Use semantic HTML — proper headings (h1–h6), lists, links, and landmark elements so screen readers can navigate the page logically.
  • Provide descriptive alt text on images that convey information.
  • Ensure foreground/background colour contrast meets or exceeds a 4.5:1 ratio for body text.
  • Build forms with associated <label> elements and visible focus indicators.
  • Avoid carousels and auto-rotating content that cannot be paused.
  • Provide visible text for every link and button — not icon-only navigation.
  • Provide multiple ways to contact us: phone, email, and an on-site contact form.
  • Review accessibility whenever we ship a major design or content change.

3. Compatibility

The website is designed to work with the current and previous major version of:

  • Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Apple Safari
  • Screen readers including JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver (macOS / iOS), and TalkBack (Android)
  • Operating system zoom and high-contrast modes on Windows and macOS

Older browsers may experience reduced functionality. Some embedded third-party widgets (review badges, social-media embeds, payment processor screens, manufacturer warranty portals) are controlled by their respective providers and may not fully meet our conformance target. Where this is the case we provide an alternative way to access the same information.

4. Known Limitations

We are aware of the following limitations and are working to resolve them:

  • A small number of older portfolio photos (uploaded before 2025) may have generic alt text rather than descriptive captions. Replacing these is an ongoing task.
  • Some PDF documents linked from blog posts may not yet be fully tagged for screen readers. Contact us and we will provide an accessible alternative.
  • Third-party review-rating badges in our footer are images supplied by external platforms; their internal accessibility is governed by those platforms.

5. Feedback — Tell Us if Something Doesn’t Work

If you encounter content on our website that you cannot access, or have a suggestion for improvement, we want to hear about it. Please include:

  • The page URL where you encountered the issue
  • A short description of the problem
  • The browser, operating system, and assistive technology you were using

6. Formal Approval

This accessibility statement was reviewed and approved by Tim, Owner of RoofingPros Milwaukee. It is reviewed at least once per year and after any major redesign.
