Hello, I need advice from knowledgeable roofing contractors. A year ago, we had a new roof installed in central FL, with peel & stick underlayment and premium shingles. Five months later, we noticed vertical buckling in the shingles. The roofing company dismissed it, saying it would settle.
Recently, while storing items in the attic, I discovered the dryer vent wasn’t reconnected to the new roof vent, causing lint buildup. Additionally, about 50% of the ridge vents were not opened, leading to poor ventilation.
My concern is that the lack of proper ventilation and the disconnected dryer vent have caused the buckling. The roofing company claims they are only responsible for the new vent placement, not the reconnection.
Should the roofing company be liable for the buckling and the lack of follow-through on the vent installation? Any suggestions or recommendations are welcome.

It sounds like the roofing company should be held responsible for both the disconnected dryer vent and the improper ventilation, which likely contributed to the buckling issue. Ensure they address the venting and consider consulting another roofing expert for an independent assessment.
